In October 2013, EWB-LSU began looking into potential programs in Honduras with the aim to partner with UNITEC, Universidad Tecnologica Centroamericana, to address the needs of a community in Honduras. Needs in the surrounding area range vastly and include energy, urban development, waste management, water management, and irrigation.

This program will give students the opportunity to work on a multi-discipline team to truly engage in the design process from idea exploration and concept generation through to implementation and monitoring.

First, EWB-LSU members will travel to Honduras and visit potential sites and meet with community leaders. With the help of UNITEC faculty and students, we will choose a community based on need and potential impact of the program. The team will then work together to develop solutions to the problems faced by the community and work with the community members to implement and monitor the project solutions.
